I’m Jonathan Jackson, a bilingual (English/Spanish) Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, educator, and storyteller. I believe that meaningful change begins when we slow down long enough to understand the stories shaping how we think, relate, and move through the world.
As a Black male therapist, I recognize that culture, identity, family, and lived experience shape the stories we carry. My goal is not to assume your story, but to create a space where every part of it can be explored with curiosity, respect, and care
Before I became a therapist, I spent nearly two decades working alongside individuals, nonprofit leaders, educators, and communities navigating transition, uncertainty, and change. Whether I was coaching executives, facilitating difficult conversations, or leading organizations through periods of growth, I found myself drawn to the same question again and again:
Why do people continue repeating patterns they desperately want to change?
I came to realize that while I had spent years helping people solve problems and navigate complexity, clinical training would help me support them more deeply as they explored grief, anxiety, trauma, relationships, identity, and the experiences that shape our lives. Becoming a therapist wasn’t a career change as much as it was the natural next chapter of work I had already been doing for years.
Today, my practice is grounded in systemic approaches to healing, drawing from Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Narrative Therapy, The Gottman Method, and Emotionally Focused Therapy to help individuals, partners, and families strengthen relationships and create meaningful, lasting change. Everything I do is guided by one simple belief:
The stories we’ve inherited shape who we’ve become.
The stories we intentionally author shape who we’re becoming.
Clients often describe my style as thoughtful, collaborative, and grounding. My role isn’t to tell you who you should become. It’s to help you discover a path that feels more aligned with your values, your relationships, and the life you want to live. I ask questions more often than I give answers because I believe people are the experts in their own lives.
Together, we’ll explore the patterns that have shaped your life with curiosity rather than judgment, identify the strengths and resources you already possess, and create space for new possibilities to emerge.
Outside of the therapy room, I continue to teach, write, speak, and develop resources that help people better understand the stories shaping their lives. That work informs my practice, but therapy remains at the heart of everything I do.
Healing isn’t about becoming someone else.
It’s about understanding your story well enough to begin writing the next chapter with greater intention... one line at a time.
